Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

Something that you can move freely in (general gymwear such as leggings/jogging bottoms, vest top etc.) We don’t wear shoes for Pilates, so you might want to bring a pair of socks if you would rather not have bare feet.

What to bring to a mixed ability class

Yourself (and depending on location a Pilates mat). All other Pilates equipment will be supplied. You may want to bring a soft drink with you as well.

What to bring to a pregnancy class

Yourself (and depending on location a Pilates mat). All other Pilates equipment will be supplied. You may want to bring a soft drink with you as well or a small snack if blood sugar levels dip regularly.

What to bring to a postnatal class

Yourself and your baby. All Pilates equipment, including mats, will be supplied. I also bring individual playmats for the babies. Please feel free to bring along other items for your baby such as blankets, comforters etc.

Do men do Pilates?

Yes! Pilates is suitable for men too. It’s great to do if participating in other sports to help prevent injuries and enhance performance.

What equipment is used?

In the classes, we sometimes use small equipment such as a soft 9” ball, foam blocks, foam rollers, resistance bands and circles. These are all optional but are used to vary the exercises and make them more challenging. The small equipment also helps you to focus on using the muscles correctly.

Do you offer private classes?

Yes. Private classes are great and mean that the exercises can be tailored to your individual needs, helping you to progress more quickly. Small group bookings of up to 4 people are also possible. Private sessions are recommended for those with a serious injury or specific problem that they want help with.
